About Peter Brown, The Chicken Doc

Peter Brown, widely known as The Chicken Doctor, has spent more than 58 years helping poultry keepers understand, manage, and prevent flock health problems.

His background includes an A.A.S. degree in Poultry Science, decades of hands-on poultry health experience, and extensive self-taught study in poultry biology, disease management, incubation, and avian embryo development. Peter is especially known for helping backyard poultry owners and small-flock keepers make practical sense of complicated health concerns.

Over the years, Peter has supported poultry keepers through consultations, educational writing, radio appearances, and product guidance. He was a regular speaker on The Chicken Whisperer Radio Show and has contributed poultry health content to Fancy Fowl USA, Practical Poultry, and The Chicken Whisperer Magazine.

Peter’s approach is direct, practical, and grounded in real poultry experience. He helps flock owners look at the whole picture: symptoms, environment, nutrition, management, age, breed, incubation history, and prevention — not just one isolated problem.

He can help with topics such as:

  • Respiratory illness and flock disease concerns

  • Coccidiosis and digestive issues

  • Parasites, mites, lice, and worming questions

  • Incubation and hatch troubleshooting

  • Chick, pullet, and adult bird health concerns

  • Nutrition and supplement support

  • General flock management and prevention

Important note: Peter provides educational poultry health guidance and practical support. His consultations are not a replacement for a licensed veterinarian when emergency care, prescriptions, testing, or state-regulated disease reporting are needed.
